Lauren was part of the Fiesta Bowl pre-game show as a member of the Veritas Preparatory Academy Honors Choir. She had a great experience, got to meet Michael McDonald (who sang the National Anthem right after them) and Governor Jan Brewer who asked them to sing for her while they were all waiting in the tunnel beforehand. They were in the same tunnel as the TCU team locker room, and she said those guys were big!
Here's a note from the choir director, Dr. Laura Inman:
Singers/parents,
CONGRATULATIONS on a spectacular performance last night! I am so proud of your poise, confidence, professionalism, enthusiasm, energy, etc. etc. etc.! Did you notice how absolutely quiet the crowd became the second you began singing? And, the wild applause afterward? It was magic. They made a huge mistake not putting it on the air- it was by far the best part of the pre-game festivities. And, what a fun day! I really enjoyed spending time with you all pre-game (I'm still trying to get my hands on that FOX backstage footage)hahaha! You all make me so proud. Thank you for being PERFECT!! BRAVI BRAVI BRAVI!!!!
So, guess who forgot her camera? We're going to get a disk with a collection of everyone's pictures on it, so we hope to put something up later.
Got to go. We're still working on that castle project. (Thanks, Janet, for your help with the ratios!!)

Dear Lauren & Linda,
Sounds like the Fiesta Bowl was a real party for Lauren. I'm so glad things turned out well for her and the choir. The life experiences she's having will definitely make great memories. When does she go to Carnegie Hall in NYC?
Sorry, I missed the fun. I'm really looking forward to the pictures.
Love you all,
Chris/Poppy
Congratulations Lauren. Very cool stuff. It sounds like a wonderful experience.
Chris, glad to hear all is well and that you've settled into the grind. Be careful and fly safely! But you already know that. :-)
Cristie and I "finally" got back from the Christmas and New Year Holiday in Pennsylvania. Got stuck in a blizzard and couldn't get home till Tuesday. Is that really a bad thing? Anyhow, we wanted to send our belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year wish! Miss you much and pray for a quick 2010!
Godspeed...
SemperOtoole!
